There's a reason why I don't tell boys that I have a crush on them! 1) I can't be bothered..too much work, 2) I can't be rejected...do you know who I am (lol). When you tell a guy that you like him your expecting him to say it back. If he doesn't...he's not feeling you. That's okay...he may want to get to know you, or he may want to remain single. Because in a guys mind when a girl likes him it means that he's going to lose all forms of freedom. Scary, huh! Don't fret...he likes you though...maybe as a friend but it's better than nothing! From now on, you never tell a dude you like him. Treat him as a friend, a brother. Nothing more, nothing less. Don't buy him ANYTHING! Don't bake or cook him ANYTHING! The only thing u can do is share something that you don't care much for, because if you lose it or a piece of it you won't feel ways. Try and get corner a man into having to spurt out he likes you by flirting a lil, giving the eye and smiling lots. Spend time with him...you may not even like him! Number one rule....follow his lead and watch for body language...if he's flirting...flirt back a little less. If he's smiling...smile back. Always have respect for yourself, and respect other people too..because that's a reflection of you! Okay...im done (whew)!

Let's Be Real!

The picture above is what black face was and still is in essence. Black face is not white boys and girls using brown paint and painting their bodies, and dressing and acting out ridiculous stereotypes of black/African people. Black face is scary...i know....it's crazy when I see white girls with deep tans that make them close to my complexion. I don't get it...but that's a whole other discussion. Black face dates back to the time of burning crosses on lawns and lynching. It's an unfotunate part of history but very critical in understanding how racism is understood and is still perpertuated. Black face is a mockery of the beauty and traditions of Africa, and as an African I am VERY offended. Don't do it! It's not funny! It continues the circle of racism, and I can't stand it!

SASS Lounge

Let's get our SASS on today! Well, yesterday I had to get a little Sassy...get a little bold. Sometimes you have to call people's bluff. Sometimes a person may be interested in getting to know you...and....your body. You may not know their intentions, and let's be real we will never completely know someones true intentions. By the way, we're not excluded...we always have our own intentions. Anyways, the person is interested in you and you know it! Now, you've already determined in your beautiful mind that you are most definately not interested (woof!). QUICK....do you A: try to be nice and hope that the person get's bored of your non chalant attitude towards any exciting gesture they shower you with, or B: you tell them "what's good" before it becomes hectic. If you chose A, you're a hott mess (lol), please choose B (lol). I think it's important to tell people right away when you're not feeling them and why. Sometimes it's hard because the person has some of the greatest and most logical rebuttle statements. But get it together, and hold it DOWN! Seriously, hold your ground. It's important to be honest and repsectful fromt he get-go, so that you're not playing with your emotions..going annoyed to angry then happy (when the person is gone)! Trust me it's a hott mess. And it saves the person time and money. By the way, if they EVER front like they are not feeling you when you're being honest, call them out on it! No one begs or harasses a person to go out to a movie (dim lighting!) just to "chiill!" You know what I mean! Know that you're full of SASS and that you deserve to have the person of your desire and need.

The Abstract Poetic

I was recently surprised with this new album from Qtip called Kamaal the Abtract. Unbeknownst to many people, this album was already completed and now refreshed for us in the 2009, even though it is 2000-and-late! I remember hearing of this album back in 2001...that would have made me...14 years. Wow, time flies! I am a huge Q Tip fan and back then I waited every Tuesday in excitement to its release date. Many push backs and rumours, gradually made the release of the album hard to come to surface and shelves. Unfortunately, it never came out....until now. Although most of the songs were leaked, Q Tip was able to provide the album with a bonus track "Make it Work" that makes the album that much better. I love the fact that it's jazzy and melodic, with convictionally lax lyrics. I'm so happy that Q Tip has continued to fight to get this album out, and it has ressurfaced again. A true artist and abstractionism at its best!

I have loved Alexa Chung since she was chillin with Gok on How to Look Good Naked. I think her style is pretty dope I mean she pulls it off real well and doesn't look over done which is good. We might not be able to watch her show "Its on with Alexa Chung" on MTV Canada but I still peek the interviews she does with artist that I like on are fav. youtube. The pics above are from her shoot with V mag I am in very deep lust with the Stella McCartney lace jumper, I saw it in Marie Claire issue and could not stop going crazy about it.
